Google Pack

Google is making a big move into Microsoft territory with the new Google Pack. Google Pack is a free software installer that includes mostly Google products and a few other useful programs. According to the Google Blog, the main purpose of the software is to “make it easier for everyone” to “discover, install, and maintain a wide range of essential PC programs”.
I suspect the real reason may be to get Firefox installed on more PCs and to get a strong Google foothold on the world’s personal computers, a territory that has long been dominated by Microsoft.
