Google is Still the King

According to figures released on Thursday by Nielsen/NetRatings, Google is still the number one choice for web search, and it’s not even close. Google had nearly 50 percent of all web searches in the US in February.

Top Search Providers ranked by Search Share, February 2006 (U.S.)
Google: 48.5 percent
Yahoo :22.5 percent
MSN: 10.7 percent
America Online: 6.6 percent

Google’s web share for image search was even more impressive.

Top 5 Image Search Providers ranked by Share of Searches, Feb 2006 (U.S.)
Google Image search: 76.3 percent
Yahoo! Image search: 13.9 percent
MSN Image search: 2.3 percent
Ask.com Image search: 1.5 percent
AOL Image search: 1.0 percent
