    • I’m Going to Pubcon - Las Vegas

    pubconI registered for Pubcon Vegas and got my flight booked last week. This will be my first Pubcon, and I’m definitely looking forward to it. I’ve heard good things about Pubcon, so hopefully it will be fun.

    This will also be my first trip to Las Vegas. I’m sure it’s going to look totally different compared to what I see on movies and television.

    Anyway, the only thing I haven’t reserved yet is a room. The place that was offering a pubcon discount, Wynn Las Vegas, has sold out of the discounted conference rate rooms, and it’s $500/night to stay there without it. For December 3rd thru the 8th, the room will cost more than twice what the flight and conference pass cost.

    If anyone has been to Pubcon Vegas, and knows of a good hotel to stay at, please let me know. Also, I hope to be able to meet some new people while I’m there, so if you see me, please say hello.

      Try the Luxor, it’s really nice, not badly priced! Have fun man!

      Thanks eCopt. I’ll look into that. I was definitely looking forward to seeing the big black pyramid even if I don’t end up staying there. :)

      The main thing about PubCon is the face time. Sure you’ve discussed things with plenty of people online but meeting them in person helps. You’ll notice a difference in your relation with some folks after the conference. Remember what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

      May I suggest the Renasaince. It is literally next door to where the conferance was last year, and I think is this year. I called yesterday, and they said they still have lots of room. A very nice hotel and closer to the convention than the Wynn, although the Wynn is the official hotel. I am staying at the Wynn, but almost stayed at the Renasainse.

      Also as far as face to face time, that is the reason I am holding my poker tournament. Last year, as a newcomer, I did not get to meet as many people as I wanted to since I didn’t get invited to the parties ;(

      This year, I am holding a Poker Tournament at the Venitean on Thursday at 9:00, and EVERYONE is invited, although the seats are limited for players. It is first come, first serve and if rock stars wait too long, they will be out too!
