Google Street Maps in Europe

Google street maps are now available as of today. Which also means that Google local is available there too. This is good news for websites containing any local information, like addresses and phone numbers in Europe.

It is another great source of traffic. Not as good as traffic from Google Search, but more than some of the other major search engines.

I haven’t had a chance to look too closely, but here is a comment from googlemapsmania.blogspot.com concerning the detail.

Good coverage: Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, Denmark

Ok coverage: Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Norway, Sweden, Finland

Limited Coverage: Greece (Athens OK, but limited detail in other areas), Istanbul area in Turkey, Moscow in Russia.

Bad coverage: Belarus (road to Moscow), Serbia, Macedonia.
