Google Books Hack?

I’ve always wondered if anyone is actually reading this blog. Well now I know, the answer is no :). I’m seeing several people blogging about Steve Rubel supposedly ‘hacking’ Google Books.

I blogged about this almost 2 months ago when it was still called Google Print.

Let me quote myself.

but if you search for a realy general term within the book, you get links to just about every page in the book.

Okay, maybe I was a bit vague, but I really didn’t think it was too big of a deal. I was thinking that anyone would have figured that out.

At any rate, it is a good tip. Rubel makes a good point when he says that you can do the exact same thing by going to your local book store (with a digital camera). I may be wrong, but I don’t think Google is going to be scrambling to fix anything now that this ‘hack’ is getting some publicity.
