Good Start for SEO Contest

Looks like contestants are snatching up some good domain names for the contest. I am seeing 5 so far that are using all or part of the keyword phrase in the domain name. It will be interesting to see what kind of advantage (if any) using the kw phrase in the domain name will have. In my book it’s all about the links.
Also, I am surprised that we already a leader in the SEO contest. We definitely have at least one skilled SEO who knows how to get indexed … FAST.
So congratulations on our current leader.
I have updated the contest page with a “Current Results” frame that links directly to the Google search for the keyword phrase.

If any other sites participating in this little SEO contest are up for trading links, send an email to Andrewaclt [at] yahoo.com. I’m running http://www.redscowl.com.
Anyway good luck

black on black links?
Only thing you could possibly be refering to is a friend of mine who I’ve been trying to get to modify his site

AltherrWeb here, running Redscowl Bluesingsky dot info. I had a question about the contest rules.
Which datacenter are you going to pull the winner from?
When I go to Google.com I get a different datacenter than somebody else that visits the same exact site from another location.
I think you should use the one that’s on Matt Cutt’s blog right now, that he calls “bigdaddy”.
It is 66.249.93.104. This way we can monitor it a little better.
Just an idea

Redscowl Bluesingsky,
Thats a good point. I am not going to use a specific data center though.
I have thought about it and in the rules I said:
“The winners must hold the winning position in most Google Data Centers.”
I plan to use several methods to make sure that I get the winner right, including using Ethereal to make sure what data centers I’m getting. Ill also have some friends help me out.

Hmmm, I noticed that the official Redscowl Bluesingsky sitehas dropped a bit. I reckon that Google merged the Big Daddy and Little Sister results somehow… Bummer.
