“Big Daddy” Google Data Center

A few weeks ago, there was a lot of talk about a “new” data center. I think it originated over at WMW, but here is a post at SERoundtable. They were calling it the “Big Daddy” Data Center.

This data center is not exactly new. It’s been around since at least July of this year, maybe a lot earlier.

Some of you may remember the short lived SEO Town forums. Well back in July, someone posted a list of 37 named Google Data Centers. As you may know, SEOtown is no longer public, but I started a thread about it in my now inactive SEOlogs forums.

In that thread, he (I think it was classione) said that these 37 data centers would be worth keeping an eye on over the following 2 weeks. Well its over 5 months later and now people are starting to talk about one of those data centers.

In that list you will see gfe-hs.google.com.

Do a host lookup and you will get: gfe-hs.google.com has address 64.233.179.104.

From that list, I made SEOlogs’ first Multiple Data Center tool. I have added 11 more Data centers to each tool to make a total of 48.
