I’m a Mover and a Shaker!

I was pleasantly surprised to see that one of my sites, MyIPNeighbors.com made it onto the Alexa Movers & Shakers list

This was the result of the site being featured on Digg.com last week. The site went from about 200 visits per day, to over 23,000 visits on the day it was featured on Digg. All that traffic might sound like a great thing, but anyone who has been featured on Digg before knows that Digg traffic just doesn’t really convert. They don’t click ads, they don’t buy stuff, and they actually take pleasure in crashing your server.
The good part about the whole thing is that the site has gained over 2000 links so far, and that’s just what’s showing so far. I’m sure there will be a lot more.
And did I mention… I’m on the Alexa Movers & Shakers list?

The digg affect demonstrated one more time. Some people even doubt the benefit. The key thing is being able to handy the traffic spike AND converting those people into regular visitors/users of your website. With your IP site it would be interesting to see if the traffic does increase over the next few weeks. I’m guessing traffic should grow to 500-1000 per day. Please update this thread if its possible in a few weeks so I can see if my guess is correct.

I wasn’t “digg’n” my sites until about a month ago.. since then I have begun ranking for many keyword phrases… haven’t been featured though! Good luck with your site man
