DMOZ: Buy Your Way In

Well, now I’ve seen it all. Someone is apparently selling a DMOZ editor account over at eBay.

The bid is up to $46 right now and it will be over in 9 days ( Oct-28-05 01:00:00 PDT). This seems kind of out there, but honestly, I think its real. It really doesn’t do much for the credibility of a directory that many already consider to be corrupt.
It won’t be long before the major search engines will be forced to reduce the value of being listed in DMOZ, which will again make things even harder for the rest of us.

This only reveals that blackhatseo has no scruples about this sort of thing. I doubt he’s got the login to sell, and if he really does have it, he’s the one who’s corrupt, not DMOZ itself.

DMOZ in essence, is the sum of it’s editors and so this can only mean DMOZ is corrupt.
