Data Center Tools Updated
- Posted by Badi Jones on February 6th, 2006 - Comment on this Post »
Just a quick heads up. I have updated 2 of the data center tools: The Multiple Data Centers Rank Check and the Multiple Data Centers Page Rank Check. I did away with the frames and also added the 3 current BigDaddy data centers. They are marked with a red BD.

Great work!
Also, if you get the time and the desire, I’d also recommend doing the same thing that you did with the “Multiple Data Centers PR Check” to the “Current PageRank” tool.
Why?
Because different datacenters are showing different results there as well.
Thanks!

Thanks,
As for the “Current Pagerank” version, I was thinking the exact same thing. So I made it, but as of yet I haven’t seen any differences between the different data centers. Kind of a dissapointment because I really thought there was some great potential there. I haven’t added the tool to the site, and I won’t unless I can see some use for it. You are welcome to mess around with it. (see here)

Cool… expect I think there must be a bug in that because I have a site which shows a PR4 in non-big daddy and a PR5 in big daddy. (using this backdoor method)
But your *new* tool shows it has having a PR5 on all datacenters… I was getting real excited that it showed a PR5 everywhere now… but then I looked at the XML behing a few of these (using the convenient link you provided) and some of these DID still show a PR4.
For testing purposes, feel free to use my client’s domain for testing:
w w w . p o l y w a d – s h o t g u n – s h e l l s . c o m
(remove spaces that I purposely added in)
(looking forward to your fixed version!)
Thanks,

Rob,
Many thanks for the extra set of eyes. It was one of those simple errors in my code. It works now. Give it another try.
Thanks again.
