SEO Education

Reading through the new posts in the news and posts of the day this morning, I came across a really interesting post at SEO Refugee forums entitled ‘anyone else want a BS in SEO?’. That thread is actually about a blog article at SEOmoz.org called ‘Need for SEO Education‘. Both of these posts are well worth reading through, and they both address a valid question: Are there any resources for someone seeking a formal degree or certificate in Search Engine Optimization.
I feel certain that it is only a matter of time until we start seeing more options for a formal SEO education. As Randfish pointed out, there is definitely a demand for people to fill SEO positions. The recent newsweek article about SEO is also evidence that the field of SEO is real, and it is to be taken seriously.

Do you happen to know (or have “inside info”) about when the testing datacenter (64.233.179.104) will go live?
Also, today, it seems to have reverted back to non-testing center results… is this a fluke or temporary thing… or are the testing center results I was viewing in past weeks a thing of the past? Maybe they just the testing data off-line for the moment and switched that IP to regular results?
Any ideas?
Thanks!

I heard some talk about ‘64.233.179.104′ a few weeks ago. Its not new to me, because I have been using it for a while on my data center tools.
This was from July; it was quoted from ‘SEO town’. If you use bash, check to see what the ip address is for gfe-hs.google.com by typing ‘host gfe-hs.google.com
You will get gfe-hs.google.com has address 64.233.179.104.
So you see I’ts not new at all.

I don’t think you read my question carefully… please re-read it… I was not asking you if you “knew about” 64.233.179.104… I already assumed that you knew about it… in fact, my question assumed that you knew about it and, actually, instead of questioning your knowledge, implicit in my question is the assumption that you ARE an expert on the subject as I’d only ask an expert such a hard/mysterious question.
As I stated before, what I’d really like to know is if/when that data will become the real data for all google datacenters. (But knowing this might require a crystal ball?)

I have no idea when this data will go live. Your best bet is to ask matt cutts: http://www.mattcutts.com/blog
One note: I am seeing the same results on 64.233.179.99 as 64.233.179.104.
