And The Winner Is…Matt Cutts!

Matt Cutts blog was awarded the Best SEO Blog of 2005 : Best Search Blogs Awards. Congratulations Matt!

Many of the top 13 (13? what an odd number) are blogs that I subscribe to. But a few of them I don’t read. So I decided to do a little test using Alexa rank. Now I know many of you probably think that Alexa Rank is useless, but I would disagree. I think its plenty useful when comparing websites in the same industry, and I just thought that it would be interesting to see how these 13 sites stacked up against eachother.

I included the 1 week average and the 3 month average so we could get a pretty good picture.

1st – Matt Cutts Blog
2nd – SEO Book
3rd – SEOMoz
4th – StuntDubl
5th – Greg Bosers WebGuerrilla
6th – Jim Boykins Blog
7th – SEO Black Hat
8th – SEO Speed Wagon
9th – Stepforth SEO Blog
10th – Link Building Blog
11th – Text Link Blog
12th – SEO by the SEA
13th – FishSEO – 162,855

So the winner is by far the most popular site according to Alexa, but a few of the high Alexarank runners up are below lower Alexa ranked sites. I guess popular is not always best.

I have to mention at least 3 more good SEO blogs that come in somewhere after number 13.

The new SEORefugee Blog, 14th Colony, and of course this blog, SEOlogs.com.

Maybe next time guys.
